of the Duke of Stemcarth, that British postage labels have not been supplied to any of the Colonies which have the control of their own posts, for the reasons stated in a letter from this office to the Colonial Office, dated the 7th of April last, in reply to an application from the Governor of British Guiana for the same.
I suggest that the same course should be followed in the case of Hongkong. If the Colonial Office will instruct the agents of the colony to procure on their behalf postage stamps, they will find no difficulty in getting them manufactured in London.
